It was so good to start a new year with smiles, giggles, great friends, good tequila, noisemakers and kisses. Since my first hour of the new year sets the tone for my remaining 364 days I think 2006 is going to be one of my best years yet. San Diego has the best memories for me. Spending time with Susan and Al, Ron and Sandy, Ron and Jose and Sharon, Al and Marilyn, John and Mary, and Brian makes it all such a great treat. It was made even more fun being able to get into Mexico again and shop in Rosarito and then enjoy lobster in Puerto Nueveo. A little rain arrived during the fighter kite fly on the 31st but like I told everyone...no need to shovel it so it wasn't the worst thing in the world. The rain held off on the first until the last person was in the van headed to old town for more good food at Rocking Baha Lobster. So 2006 is officially here...let the good times fly.

Approaching the border with Mexico.

Finally, sunshine on the Pacific.

The beauty along with the poverty in Mexico is astounding.

The shopping in Rosarito is so fun.

Marias was out of lobster so we enjoyed a margarita, took a photo, and went on our way.

Puerto Nuevo...so many eating establishments so little time.

Finally, a place with lobster...live ones even.

These guys are beauties...two or three pounds of meat each.

Quite the salesperson. Rosa Mar it is!!!

Lobster, baha style. Boiled then broiled. Nummmm.

Susan and Sandy ready to dig in.

Ron helped us with our language barrier and found the best meal in town.

Brian and Sharon enjoying the good company and good eats.

Al is such a great guy...very photogenic as well.

Such a great time shared with such good friends.

Our waiter, Hector...mi casa, su casa. Thanks Hector.

Rosa Mar was friendly and warm.

Fighter Kite fly on the 31st at Mission Bay.

Good friends even come in uniforms.

A new Gibian kite.

This is the kinnard like kite that Ron is teaching at OKR.

Great to see you Ron. Great to see green grass too.

The Gibian Duck or Goose

Kitefliers enjoying the day in southern California.

A couple Lenzen kites.

Brian takes such good care of Vanna.

New Year's Eve at Susan's place. Mary and Sharon pouring a liquid libation.

Susan put out a beautiful party table for all of us.

A tequila bar...what a way to celebrate a new year.

Happy New Year everyone.

Flying field on New Years Day.

Doctor Brian diagnosing my ill bird.

Light wind called for a della porta.

A Gibian and Lenzen sky.

The 550 caught the bird...I was able to fly it out of the bridles....whew.

The 550 caught a couple other kites as well.

What a mess.

Brian, the 90 makes you look sooo petite!!!

Jose and the serape kite made by Walt Mitchell.

Jose's work is phenomenal.

Native totem flew well...it like me loves the ocean breezes.

The 550 dwarfs everything.

Always fun flying with you Brian.

I do like celebrating the New Year in San Diego.

My best work.

The 550 at sunset.

Brian's new fish...love the colors!!!

Relaxing at the end of the flying day.

Brian is telling stories...wonder what he is saying?

It is the storytelling that is the most fun.

Can you say mischief?

Laughter and friends...it doesn't get any better than that.

Don't ask, just join me for a giggle. Thanks everyone for making my Christmas vacation so wonderful. God bless you all.
