12th Annual
Skydance Sakakawea
Kite Festival 2004

Kite folk are the best. Even though the wind was less than ideal and the rain drenched several pieces of sky art, my guests put on a great show and helped make Skydance #12 a grand success!!! Mike Shaw, Don Murphy, Betty Suhr, Tony and Ann Killip, Jeff Hale, Brad Klages, the Gilsons, Mike Gee, Chris Dodson, Rollie Metz, and Rena Rustad worked so hard and filled the sky to the best of their ability. 100 kids kites were made on Saturday with the assistance of volunteers from the Sakakawea Arts and Crafts Association. A donation from CANDISC helped cover some of the festival expenses and the support of that organization is greatly appreciated.

The informal fly Friday evening was alot of fun. Saturday saw the biggests crowds and the sky was filled with kites when the wind allowed. Saturday night, guests dined on BBQ ribs and chicken and enjoyed Ft. Stevenson's amphitheater presentation. Sunday was a high wind day so everyone was limited with what they could fly. Monday was a complete rain/blow out.

So now planning begins for Skydance #13. Sure to be a lucky one.
