Skydance was unique in 2008 with the visit from Carveth and Luella Kramer from Taos, New Mexico. Carveth's incredible banners
helped create a carnival atmosphere around the festival fields and brought joy to the hundreds of daily visitors to the event. Rena Rustad,
owner of Prairie Wind Kite Company, kept a steady stream of new kites taking flight into the prairie sky. Professional level kites
were flown by Mike Shaw, Chris Dodson, Rollie Metz, Lisa and Dan Rouse, Darwin Smith, and Deb Lenzen. Mike's award winning
art kites garnered ohhs and ahhhs from the crowd. Deb raffled one of her original kites as a way to raise money for the festival. Kyle's Katering
provided barbecue ribs and chicken for the flyers meal at the end of the flying on Saturday. Tornadoes flirted with the shoreline on the other side of
the lake throughout the weekend making for exciting moments but at the end of the weekend a great and safe time was had by all.
